We came to the workshop not really knowing what to expect. My husband and I are quite different in how we approach things, and it has caused friction over the years. The session gave us a language for that — not a fix, but a shared starting point. We have used the frameworks at home since.

The Household Hub setup was worth it for the emergency contacts sheet alone, honestly. We had so much information scattered across different phones and email inboxes. Now everything is in one place and my wife and I actually know where to look. The follow-up call a month later was a nice touch.

I've been in the Caring Community for eight months now. It's become a routine I look forward to. The monthly sessions pick topics I would not have thought to look into myself, and the peer group is warm without being overwhelming. I appreciate that nobody is trying to solve my problems — just learning together.

Living abroad with family adds its own complications. Finding Kinora was a relief — not because they had answers, but because they offered a space to think alongside other families in similar situations. The sessions are run with real care. I have already recommended it to two other families we know here.

The workshop was a bit shorter than I expected — two hours feels quick — but what we took home was surprisingly useful. The discussion cards ended up pinned to our kitchen board for weeks. My teenage daughter actually picked one up on her own and used the questions. That was unexpected and worth the whole thing.

The Hub setup helped us see just how disorganised our household information actually was. The template for school documents alone saved us two hours of frantic searching this term. Natalie was thorough and patient during the session, and the maintenance guide has kept us on track. Simple but effective.

Case Studies

Three families, three different starting points

Details have been generalised to protect privacy. Shared with participant permission.

Case Study 01 · Workshop

A family returning to conversation

Starting point

A three-person family — two adults and an adult child — had gradually stopped discussing major shared topics. Each person felt their view would be dismissed. Communication had become transactional.

What they did

Attended a Finding Common Ground workshop together. All three engaged with the perspective frameworks during the session and used the discussion cards in the weeks that followed at their own pace.

What shifted

Three months later, they reported holding two structured conversations using the frameworks — conversations they said would not have happened otherwise. No resolution required, just a shared willingness to try.

"We did not solve anything in the session. But we walked out with something to try. That was enough to start."

Case Study 02 · Hub Setup

A household finally in the same place

Starting point

A family with two working adults and two children in school. Important documents were spread across emails, a physical folder nobody updated, and one parent's memory. A minor emergency made the gap visible.

What they did

Completed the Household Information Hub Setup. The guided session took two and a half hours. They populated the templates over the following two weeks at their own pace, using the maintenance plan as a guide.

What shifted

Within one month, both adults could access all key documents and contacts without asking the other. School correspondence, medical details, and emergency contacts were in a single shared location for the first time.

"It sounds small, but knowing exactly where everything is has removed a low-level stress we had both been carrying for years."

Case Study 03 · Community Year

Finding a steady community abroad

Starting point

An international family who had relocated to Phuket two years earlier. They felt well-settled practically but lacked a consistent community of other families in a similar position who were genuinely interested in learning together.

What they did

Joined the Caring Community Year. They attended most monthly sessions live and used the recordings for the rest. One family member became a regular in the peer group; the other engaged mainly through the resource library.

What shifted

By month six they had connected with two other families from the peer groups and maintained those connections outside of Kinora. They renewed their membership for a second year and said the consistency of the space mattered as much as the content.

"A year in, we are still here. That tells you more than a rating."
